David Stowell

Iron Sheepdog is pleased to announce a new addition to the sales and business development team. David Stowell brings decades of experience in the industry, with involvement working on major projects like the expansion of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the growth of Dulles International Airport.

“David certainly understands the impact that trucking has on projects of every size, and he believes strongly in our vision to be a disruptor in this space,” says Mike Van Sickel, Chief Executive Officer at Iron Sheepdog. “He will also be a great asset in our efforts to launch new markets, as he has many established relationships across the industry.”

Iron Sheepdog is a fleet management and dispatch software platform with a mobile app. Working with contractors and brokers, Iron Sheepdog helps create efficiency and transparency in dump truck hauling to help contractors manage trucking and brokers grow their fleets with less hassle. Haulers are engaged with the platform via a mobile app that allows them to accept jobs, check in and out of worksites, collect tickets and get paid digitally.

In his new role, Stowell will be responsible for generating business in new markets and growing the startup’s footprint in existing markets.

Stowell studied business management at Radford University and, together with his wife, they created a small landscaping business to help encourage entrepreneurship in their family, as well to instill valuable business and life lessons in their two children. The spirit of entrepreneurship is also what excites him about joining the Iron Sheepdog team.

“Iron Sheepdog solves a huge problem in the industry,” Stowell explains. “I’m excited to be joining a growing team with ambitious goals.”
