Iron Sheepdog seeks an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead our rapidly expanding software engineering department.

We’re revolutionizing the short haul trucking industry with our innovative fleet management platform. Our newly doubled budget empowers us to embark on ambitious projects, and we’re seeking a dynamic Technical Project Manager to orchestrate our growth. In this remote role, you’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive the technical vision and roadmap for our expanding platform.  If you have the expertise to guide a passionate team and navigate complex technical landscapes, we want you on board!

Role Objectives
  • Shape the Future: Collaborate with stakeholders to craft short, medium, and long-term strategic roadmaps.
  • Spearhead Mission-Critical Projects: Own the planning and seamless execution of high-impact initiatives that will transform our platform.
  • Champion Scalability and Excellence: Refine processes to ensure our software architecture is continuously optimized for scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of development excellence, establish operational metrics, and relentlessly pursue process enhancements.
  • Strengthen Team Dynamics: Institute regular developer check-ins, promote effective communication, and establish clear progress tracking.
  • Ensure Security and Compliance: Lead the implementation of robust security practices like integrated scanning and open-source licensing management. Oversee and streamline our SOC II audit process.
  • Contribute to Strategic Vision: Engage in senior leadership discussions, offering insights to strengthen our engineering strategy, product roadmap, and communication processes.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related STEM discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of proven success managing complex technical projects within a software development context.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture, development methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Experience working in startup environments and the transportation/construction sector is a significant advantage.
