Dump truck fleet management isn’t exactly rocket science, but Iron Sheepdog believes that growing its technology team with an astrophysicist certainly can’t hurt. The trucking technology startup recently welcomed Jeremy Heartley as a Software Support Engineer. He will provide operational support to ensure a seamless customer experience in this role. He will also work on product development.
Heartley brings a wealth of programming and support experience, having worked as a contractor building and supporting software products for the Federal Aviation Administration since 2015. He holds an Astrophysics degree from the University of Virginia.
“I’ve always been drawn to technology and its ability to completely digitize an industry workflow, facilitating change and improvement on a large scale,” says Heartley. “Being part of a startup that is equally committed to providing a premier product AND customer service excellence excites me.”
Iron Sheepdog helps contractors and brokers manage trucking logistics. Using web-based technology and a mobile app, the Iron Sheepdog platform integrates the business functions of setting up, tracking and documenting job details, load verification, invoicing and supply chain financing for the short haul industry.
“Programming for logistics – whether safely navigating the skies or managing the movement of materials on the ground – requires a high level of focus and expertise,” says Will Lawrence, CTO of Iron Sheepdog. “We know Jeremy’s knowledge and experience will improve our product and our end users’ experience. His shared commitment to customer service and thirst for learning and improving will make us a stronger team.”
